2008
FRAC Centre | Orleans | France
For its 2008 Conception Performative exhibition at the FRAC Centre in Orleans, France, the experimental practice OCEAN Architecture | Environment delivered the exhibition design and the design for a cable-net and textile membrane array installation.
OCEAN is an international network of six architecture firms operating in Oslo, Rome, London, Frankfurt, Sydney, and Tel Aviv. Their research lies at the intersection of architecture, industrial design, engineering, biology, ecology, microclimatology, and music. It was founded collectively in 1995 by a group of individuals hailing from diverse and varied intellectual and geographical backgrounds—yet whose point of convergence, connection, and synergy was the Architectural Association. OCEAN brings together members of a spontaneously international generation—one interested in the global nature of phenomena, identities, and culture, and actively engaged in both geographical and disciplinary mobility.
