Kristaps Kleinbergs obtained his Bachelor of Architecture from RISEBA University in Riga, Latvia and his bachelor thesis was delegated to participate in Archiprix 2016 that was held at CEPT University in Ahmedabad, India. After continuing his master’s degree in Academy van Bouwkunst in Amsterdam, he enrolled in Aalto University, Department of Architecture in 2017.
Kristaps has worked internationally in architecture bureaus in Riga, Rotterdam, and Helsinki. He has been a part of the winning team for Latvian Pavilion in Venice Biennale 2012 and also has been awarded in multiple other competitions. In 2014 he received the Latvian Architecture Award for a self-initiated project ´´Manual: Urban Sports and Architecture´´, that was continued as part of Tallinn Architecture Biennale events in 2015.
Currently, Kristaps is working on his master thesis that focuses on the relation between abstraction and rulesets as a design approach to form-finding.
